The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon Police Station.
TRESPASSING/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT/RESISTING ARREST: 8400 Richmond Hwy, Aug. 11, 8:27 a.m. An officer stopped to speak to a woman who had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The woman punched the officer in the face, spat on the officer, and removed several pieces of police equipment from the officer as she resisted arrest. A 45-year-old woman from Alexandria was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and the original warrant of trespassing.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 2900 block of Arlington Drive (Family Fortune Restaurant) Aug. 8, 3:30 a.m. Someone broke through the front glass door and removed cash from the register.
STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY: 6600 block of Richmond Highway, Aug. 6, 4:24 p.m. Officers responded to the area for a lookout given for a stolen, black Toyota 4-Runner. The SUV was seen driving into the parking lot of Target where it was stopped by Officers. The four occupants were arrested and include one adult male and three juveniles. The vehicle was reported stolen from City of Alexandria one week prior. A 19-year-old man from Alexandria was arrested and charged with possession of stolen auto. charges are pending for the juvenile occupants.
