To the Editor:
I write to the editor of the Gazette occasionally and among those letters I sometimes express a different opinion to one expressed by H. Jay Spiegel. This week, as a fellow companion of a dog, there is no difference. I offer heartfelt condolences on the death of his longtime companion, Mia. Some would say she had a long life at 19 1/3 years, but in the midst of grief, any true human companion to a dog would have hoped for an additional 19 1/3 years. The memories will help, but I know she will be missed.
My deepest sympathies, Mr. Spiegel.
