Obituary: Evelyn May Poole

Obituary

Evelyn May Poole died in her home on March 19, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves behind her daughter Janice Goodell and her husband Bob of Fredericksburg, Va., and her son G. Phillip Poole and wife Mary Nell of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren Greg Goodell, Gretchen Pendleton, Lisa Lambert, B. Phillip Poole, Aaron Poole and Sadie Poole; great-grandchildren, Blake Poole, Harris Lambert, Molly Lambert, Hudson Lambert, Henry Pendleton, and Vivi Goodell. Her loving husband of many years Garland (Guy) Poole predeceased her, as did her parents James Garfield and Sadie Duvall, and a brother James Garfield Duvall.

Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon. She worked for the American Red Cross in Alexandria, the Vet Clinic at Fort Belvoir and volunteered for many years at Mount Vernon Hospital. Evelyn touched many with her unconditional love and caring friendship. She will be missed by many.

Visitation is on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the Celebration of her Life begins at noon at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria. Interment will follow in Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mount Vernon Hospital Auxillary or the Carroll County Maryland Hospice Center.
