Exemplary Service
Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s Benson Parker received the Outstanding Direct Support Professional Award from the Arlington County Department of Human Services at a ceremony held March 5 at the National Science Foundation Atrium in Arlington. Parker has worked in direct care for nine years, six of them spent at Volunteers of America Chesapeake. Sponsored by the Arlington County Department of Human Services along with DHS and the Community Service Board, the award is given annually to honor individuals who have provided exemplary service and care to Arlington residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
