The Mount Vernon Friends enjoy the annual picnic on the estate grounds. The approximately 1,800 neighborhood friends and contributing members live within the original five-farm estate of George Washington. The 8,000-acre farm consisted of River Farm, Mansion House Farm, Dogue Run Farm, Muddy Hole Farm, and Union Farm.
